Dr. Glenn R. "Doc" Young

Firearms Instructor — US Army Veteran · Federal Law Enforcement Retiree

Doc Young was born in Texas and grew up in Arlington. After graduating high school, he joined the US Army in 1975. He was trained as an infantryman and assigned to the Berlin Brigade.

While there he qualified and was selected for Officer Candidate School, with subsequent assignments in Alabama and Germany. He was honorably discharged as a Captain in 1982.

Dr. Young completed his bachelor's degree with Columbia College in 1986, then his doctorate at the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in 1992. He completed a distinguished career with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, retiring on December 31, 2012.

He completed NRA instructor courses and became a Texas License to Carry (LTC) instructor, bringing his experience as a classroom instructor, military officer, and law enforcement professional to new students at Dragon Firearm Training.
